Great advice, thanks.
I'm going for my first launch monitor session this week with my pro 'cos I've no idea whether my driver is the optimum for me.
I firmly believe that if pros marketed a launch monitor service and gave the golfer a "prescription" of clubhead speed, launch angle, spin rates etc etc they would get a lot of business.

Fitting golf clubs is much more than launch angles and clubhead speed. I often listen to the sales people at golf retail stores and I'm amazed at the poor or incorrect information given to customers that are receiving a so-called 'fitted club'. Custom club fitters learn their clients and proceed only after gathering information and processing that data with the best interest of the golfer the first priority. Thanks for you quality equipment and articles. GC

Jeff,

Thank you for the article. I just got back from a golf store that allows you to test any club they offer with a small bucket on their range. Seeing with the eyes does help narrow down the club or shaft decision. Hitting into a net should not be the only method in determining whether a particular club fits your swing. The store I just got back from also offer a net with some computer equipment, but for me at least, it is much better to hit them off the grass (preferred) or mat (2nd choice) and make a choice.
