Golf club maintenance is an often overlooked yet important part of the game. Take this quiz and learn that you may not know everything about cleaning and preserving your sticks! For example:
“Putting baby oil or Vaseline on the face of a carbon steel wedge or putter will prevent it from rusting.”

Taking your quiz made me realize I have to brush up on a few things. I’ve bookmarked your site.

Leaving baby oil or vaseline on the face of a wedge will cause the ball to slice or hook drastically!

Bert:
Just the opposite, it will reduce the ball from hooking or slicing as much. That is why the USGA put a rule in place for that.

7- extreme heat, i’d tend to agree, but what will sub-zero temperatures do to rubber and steel?
9- storing in a cool dry place will do the same, and it’s not illegal OR potentially dangerous
(picturing a guy wiping off the vaseline before teeing off… OOPS!!)
